Island of Elba » how to reach the island
Car ferries leave from Piombino to Portoferraio almost hourly in the summer season. There are also a couple of daily ferries for Rio Marina. The main shipping companies are Toremar and Moby Lines.Tickets can be bought online or through our hotel (we recommend pre-booking for Saturdays, even in low season).
The crossing from Piombino to Portoferraio takes one hour.
A hydrofoil service (no cars), which arrives only in Portoferraio and Cavo, takes 35 minutes.
